Group f11
In 2008 three photographers, starting out on their careers, decided to keep in contact through a blog page in which they could share ideas, post images and ask each other advice. This has since mutated into a web space where those photographers still meet, but so too do their students and other like-minded photographers.

God beams
Ok so this is the first time I am posting anything. I really hope I am not making a botch up of this. But here go's!
Since the theme for November is water, I thought I should post a pic I took on a dive I did on Sunday.
I tried getting the beams of sunlight to shine past the head of the kelp for a mystical forest effect.
Any comments?
I am totally open to crits, as I am not a professional.

This is very cool Jason! I really like the beams shining through the water. A very nice first pick of 'water'. Not sure if it's possible (I've never dived) but could you experiment further with this theme, maybe shots with a cloud of bubbles rising with the beams filtering through them?
Otherwise, great shot!

Nice! I like the way the main kelp stem leads the eye into the centre of the pic, and with the sun behind that! Good effort! Underwater photography is a WHOLE nother ball game!
I also think this is a great shot. Good composition and I love the various shades of blue in the image - creates depth. Did you shoot any with the sun just appearing to the right with perhaps a little controlled flare? What camera/housing did you use?
Neil.
Thanx everyone...Emil: I do have a pic where I tried taking it with the bubbles..I will try post it, but the effect wasnt as dramatic.
Neil: I am using a Canon G7 with the canon housing. Flare is not that easy to get underwater, but I would love to try soe shots like that in the future..Thanx again everyone!!!
