Group f11

In 2008 three photographers, starting out on their careers, decided to keep in contact through a blog page in which they could share ideas, post images and ask each other advice. This has since mutated into a web space where those photographers still meet, but so too do their students and other like-minded photographers.

A long awaited entry

Was editing some wedding photo's now (my weakness is not sitting down and doing the post photo work). So I've not waited for the morrow to blog this..

Back to the theme of a book cover... I have this that stirred something. Maybe a title like My Sister's Keeper or something along those lines. I'm the worst at remebering names of titles. But anyway, here it is..

Hi Mandy, I've been meaning to comment on this image for a while. I like the total concept of the image and, importantly, the disappearing legs in the background. What bothers slightly is the tightness of the crop. There's just a tad too little space above her head and also cropping her feet off minimizes space entirely. At first I thought his might not be a problem, and then I realised...where does the title go?

Other points worth considering - the overall lack of sharpness and slight graininess adds to the moody feel to the image. The faint smile on the girl's face might be slightly contradictory to that feeling though. I'd also like to see a little more detail in the shadows of the eys.

At one point I was also a little iffy about the colour (there's a very strong orange cast) but now don't mind it the more I've looked at it.

Overall it's a well seen shot! For a book cover it needs a little more work. How bout posting a PSed version as you would see it on a cover?
