In 2008 three photographers, starting out on their careers, decided to keep in contact through a blog page in which they could share ideas, post images and ask each other advice. This has since mutated into a web space where those photographers still meet, but so too do their students and other like-minded photographers.
If anybody would like to join all you need to do is email the blog administrator, Emil .
As Emil noted, these shots are aimed at Trevillion, Monsoon and Arcangel. I think Emil's third shot of the lone key is very much in the mood for these three libraries. I only shot one of these images with the Lensbaby - no guesses which one!
I really like the first two shots. The third one isn't as strong as the first two...I almost get the impression that the blurred effect is by accident, rather than purposeful. I like the order of the second shot in particular. the first I could see as a banking ad in the current Standard Bank style. The keys are really cool as well. Where did you find them?
Thanks for your comments on mine. I was trying to go the super sharp route except for one image. Lighting is from what is becoming my favourite lighting rig, a single flash through a home made softbox.
Images should be resized to 72 ppi with the longest side about 700 pixels in length (larger images are welcome, but take up bandwidth) and then saved at a jpeg setting of 8. Convert the image to sRGB colour space for best viewing results. Watermarking of images is recommended, but at the image settings mentioned above copyright infringement is extremely unlikely.
